- OpenAI Agents API adds automatic approval via auto_review: A review model approves or rejects high-risk operations on behalf of the agent
The OpenAI developer account reposted the Agents API team's weekly update on 10 30, noting that Auto Review brings Codex’s "approve for me" feature to the Agents API. According to official documentation, when a session's review field is set to "auto_review", an OpenAI-hosted review model evaluates operations requiring approval (such as shell commands needing elevated privileges or posing risks, file modifications, expansions of filesystem or network permissions, and MCP tool calls that rules require confirmation for). The model uses conversation context to determine what the operation does, its risks, and whether it aligns with user intent, then automatically approves or rejects it. If not set, the default is "none".
- Claude Subscription Renaming: Max 5x renamed to Max, Max 20x renamed to Ultra; 5-hour limit removed for verified Ultra accounts
Claude's official account announced on 10 30: Max 5x is renamed to Max (still 100 per month), and Max 20x is renamed to Ultra (still 200 per month); subscribers do not need to take any action. Additionally, the 5-hour rolling limit is removed for verified Ultra accounts. This change will initially cover most existing subscribers starting today; newer accounts will retain temporary limits until verification is complete and will receive an email when the limit is lifted. Weekly limits remain unchanged. The current pricing page states: Max offers 5 times the usage of Pro (per 5 hours and weekly), while Ultra offers 10 times the weekly usage of Pro, with no 5-hour limit for verified accounts.
- OpenAI's persistent agent dots will join models such as GPT-6.1 Terra, with the goal of opening it up to more users
OpenAI's Thibault Sottiaux (@thsottiaux) said on X on 11 2 that the team is expanding the family of frontier models powering dots, including GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Terra, with more models to come; Terra brings faster speeds and a "personality upgrade," which will help bring dots to more people. dots is a persistent agent within ChatGPT: according to official documentation, it is currently powered by GPT-6 Astra, has its own computer and browser in the cloud, can continue working even when your computer is turned off, and can be reached via ChatGPT, Slack, Teams, and phone. GPT-6.1 Terra was released via the API on 10 26, officially positioned as fast and efficient, excelling at visual reasoning, precise computer operation, and natural writing.
- Claude Messages API introduces message threads (beta): the server stores the conversation, and only new messages are sent per turn
Claude Platform changelog 11 2: Messages API adds message threads, available in beta, requiring the message-threads-2026-08-12 beta header. The first request sends the full conversation, system, and tools as usual, with "thread": {"type": "create"} added; subsequent turns send only the new message and the ID of the previous response ("type": "continue"), with the server reassembling the full conversation before calling the model. Threads expire 5 minutes after the last request and are deleted within 1 hours at the latest. Available on Claude API, Claude Platform on AWS, Claude Models on Google Cloud (Anthropic-hosted), and Claude on Microsoft Foundry.
