A command-line tool for managing git worktrees, designed specifically for running multiple AI coding agents simultaneously: each agent gets its own isolated working directory to prevent interference, and creating, switching, or cleaning up worktrees is as simple as switching branches.

Reasons
- With native git, opening a worktree requires typing the branch name three times and then cd-ing into it; with this tool,
wt switch -c -x claude featcreates a branch, sets up a worktree, and launches Claude inside it with a single command. Usewt removeto clean up, andwt listto display changes, ahead/behind status, and commit states for each worktree. - Includes hooks (automatically run commands before and after creation or merging), generates commit messages based on diffs, displays CI status and AI summaries per branch, and completes squash/rebase/merge/cleanup in one command. On APFS, btrfs, and XFS, it allows multiple worktrees to share build caches such as
target/andnode_modules/.
Usage
- Run
brew install worktrunk && wt config shell install, orcargo install worktrunk; on Windows, usewinget install max-sixty.worktrunk, with the command namegit-wt. - Use
wt switch --create feature-authto create a new one; usewt switch pr:123to switch directly to a PR's branch; full documentation is available at worktrunk.dev.
Risks
- Generating commit messages and branch summaries requires separately configuring model commands, as the README only provides documentation links; on Windows, there is a command conflict between
wtand Windows Terminal. - The README lists the license as dual MIT or Apache-2.0 (not recognized by GitHub); the repository was created in 2025 year 10 month, and this is its first appearance on the list.
